The Royal Academy of Engineering on Smart Buildings

An interesting report on Smart Buildings has recently been released by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The report focuses on ‘smart’ tools and technologies and in particular on the opportunities that arise with ‘smart data’ collection in understanding occupant behaviour. A discussion is also taking place on the risks and challenges in terms of privacy and security of data and of equipment maintenance. The full report can be found at http://www.raeng.org.uk/news/publications/list/reports/RAEng_Smart_Buildings.pdf
